Chapter 1377: Half an Ancient Day

返回章节列表
More abstract than the realm of Billings, within the stellar realm—encompassing the very sovereignty and symbolism of the entire universe—everything manifests clearly. The light illuminating this space is not evenly distributed; it concentrates primarily in several areas, layering and interweaving into thick, prism-like patches. There are three such patches, each sealing off a distinct realm of illusion. Some of these realms are lush with vibrant blossoms, with skies perpetually bright; others appear composed of books—open or closed—through which figures move and delight in reading; still others are vast, endless seas perpetually tossed by fierce winds, thunder, and lightning. In the very next instant, dramatic transformations unfold simultaneously within all three realms. In the realm with consistently bright skies, every blossom emits a radiant glow, transforming into a series of miniature, blazing suns. These countless suns interwove and together poured their energy into the exceptionally brilliant golden sun rising rapidly deep within the realm, infusing it with a scorching radiance capable of illuminating the entire world and even the entire galaxy. Yet, no matter how much energy this near-true sun released or how many superheated flames it generated, it could not penetrate the thick, prism-like patches of light. It would destroy one layer only for another to form anew, at no slower pace. At another part of the stellar realm, on the surface of the wondrous nation composed of books, similar patches of light shimmered with swift, golden-copper glimmers that swiftly traced out one after another mysterious symbols, as though searching for structural weak points or effective strategies capable of shattering the barrier. Throughout this process, these glimmers coalesced into a pair of ethereal eyes, directly perceiving the vulnerable spots and thereby creating eyes that saw the weaknesses. Within the patches of light, similar faint glimmers were also moving, repeatedly reconstructing themselves and shifting key structural points. This made it seem as though both parties were competing in computational prowess, drawing no clear winner at first. Deep within the boundless sea, shrouded in lightning, gales, and torrential rains, a single point of light suddenly flared to life. Carrying matter with it, it approached the limit of speed, generating violent "waves" capable of destroying entire planets. These "waves," together with the point of light, continuously struck the thick, prism-like patches of light, causing them to shed countless shimmering fragments. At some point, a vast, ethereal ocean of light—seeming to embrace all colors and possibilities—began to ripple within the patch. This appeared to freeze the surrounding environment, causing the light points bearing the storm to slow down significantly. Then, they would accelerate, then decelerate, then accelerate again, then decelerate, repeating this cycle without yielding. Adam, drawing from the source of the "Chaos Sea" and supporting himself and the "True Creator," has conceived three unique essences and integrated them into this system. Thus, he appears to transcend the limits of sequence, becoming half an Ancient One, and by his own power has successfully contained the "Eternal Sun," the "Storm Sovereign," and the "God of Knowledge and Wisdom"—the three Sequence-0 True Deities—within their respective divine realms! At this moment, He seems to have returned to his peak state, reverting to the ancient solar deity who once single-handedly slew one after another of the ancient gods. He establishes the foundations of His rebirth through the paths of the "Idealist" and the "Hanged Man," not only because each of these paths possesses a unique resurrection quality, but also because these are the choices He has studied and found most likely to culminate in divinity. Once one of these two paths—either the "Idealist" or the "Hanged Man"—has led to the emergence of a true deity and the initial mastery of the "Chaos Sea," the subsequent step of gradually reclaiming the remaining uniqueness and the singular, sequence-1 extraordinary traits becomes the most straightforward and lowest-risk route to ascending as a "Lord of the Stellar Realms." Among these, the "Idealist" holds an additional distinct advantage over the "Hanged Man." When the "Idealist" initially masters the "Chaos Sea" and, to some extent, incorporates the second unique essence along with its corresponding sequence-1 extraordinary trait, He can rely on the power of "Idealism" to manifest the remaining, previously false symbols and authorities, thereby achieving, within a short period, a transcendence beyond sequence levels and gaining half the strength of an Ancient One. However, at the close of the Third Age, the ancient Sun God's plan was to immediately revive at Sasliel's court in the Hall of the Giants following his "assassination," first reclaiming the unique nature of the "Hangman" and its three Sequence 1 exceptional traits, thereby reestablishing himself as a true God of Sequence 0. Then, leveraging the first "Board of Desecration" placed beside him, he would initially gain control over the "Chaos Sea." With this foundation in place, he would awaken and restore the "Imaginative Angel" Adam, reestablishing his core presence and forming a stable support structure. Once such a system was fully established, the ancient Sun God would harness the pastoral capabilities of the "Hangman" and the "Imaginative" ability to separate virtual personae, thereby mastering the unique natures and one exceptional trait from each of the three paths—the "Sun," the "Reader," and the "Navigator"—bringing himself in both dignity and power infinitely close to the Old Days, while maintaining a minimum level of stability. He did not directly embrace the "Chaos Sea," nor accommodate the uniqueness and sequence of the other three paths, because He did not wish, at that time, to elevate the Old Ones and become a pillar—something that would inevitably lead to the resurrection of "God" and the loss of His own self. Instead, He intended to hold firm over the situation and materials, completing the final steps only as the end approached, thus becoming a self-aware pillar in one decisive move. At that time, He had not yet chosen the "Idealist" as His foundation, because He had not yet received the "Pen of Aleruth," lacking a primary material. Only after the angels' kings betrayed Him, his plans collapsed, and He was revived upon Adam did He decide to seize this opportunity brought by the calamity and pursue the most favorable path. Now, Adam, transformed into a vast luminous form, stands upon the chaotic, dark waters, reflecting the star realm within His eyes, thus making the Three True Gods find it impossible to break through their limits. Around Him, one after another, beams of light trailed flaming tails, cascading from the heights and falling continuously, illuminating the entire land abandoned by the gods, bringing both northern and southern continents into the midday daylight. Within the last standing clock tower of Bayam, Amun pushed his single-crystal spectacles slightly, braced his hands, and leapt suddenly—directly into the stellar realm. During this leap, his left hand, at some point, had acquired an ancient, weathered stone slab. The first "Slain Stone"! Amun had once used it to seal the breach caused by the return ritual of the "Lord of the Door," preventing the invasion of the "Fallen Mother Goddess." When the return ritual concluded and the flesh-bound gate fully collapsed, no longer sustaining any passage, he had retrieved this "Slain Stone" once more. Now, Amun simply tossed it casually, allowing the ancient stone slab to descend through the stellar realm and settle somewhere in the Mist Sea. It landed upon a mountain that pierced through the endless black fog. At its base, the horizon seems endless; around it, as though a continent exists. After the first "Defiled Stone" settled precisely upon the summit of the mountain, it transformed into a shimmering, ethereal sea that embraced all hues. Meanwhile, Amun entered the stellar realm and witnessed the main peak of the Honaquis mountain range, now grafted into this location, with its ancient and weathered palace atop the peak. He, wearing a pointed soft hat and clad in a classical black robe, rapidly expanded in size, instantly attaining the scale of a mountain. His mouth opened wide, as if ready to engulf the magnificent yet crumbling palace of Antigonus. Suddenly, he saw a faint, indistinct figure. This figure wore a layered yet uncluttered black gown, adorned with countless stars. As large as Amun now, arms sprouted from his ribcage and waist, each covered in deep, short black hair, yet his face was delicate and gentle, veiled in a thin, translucent black veil. His eyes seemed to condense the night sky studded with countless stars, bringing both a sense of peace and an unshakable feeling of fear. Two of his hands held a long, massive sickle, while another grasped a golden bird-shaped ornament, the remaining ones open, as if supporting an invisible presence. " Goddess of Night!" The very next moment, Amun, whose right eye wore a single-lens spectacles, was swiftly erased like a sketch by a rubber eraser. The two arms that had been empty now rose, cradling a nearly intangible, hazy mist. On the surface of this mist, one after another, doors of varying shapes and sizes opened rapidly at different locations—only to be instantly sealed again, leaving no gaps. Floating atop the summit of the main peak of the Honaqis Mountain range within the Stellar Realm, the Goddess of Night focused intently on the "world of mist" in her hands, ensuring that Amun's true form remained unescapable. As more and more "doors" appeared, opening faster and faster, the goddess could no longer keep up with her own efforts and had to raise her other two arms, lifting a long, massive sickle. This deep black sickle swiftly became intangible, transforming into a solid, dense coffin made of thick, dark mist. The nearly invisible "world of mist" was sealed within this coffin, and all movement ceased instantly—seeming to die at once. Yet this stillness lasted only a single second. On the surface of the dark mist forming the coffin, one after another, new "doors" began to take shape and open. The goddess sealed these emerging doors while raising her arm holding the golden bird-shaped ornament. The warm, orange-hued twilight light dimmed and gently spilled over the dark coffin, lending it a sense of decay and fading. The formation and opening of the "doors" gradually slowed, and the two sides entered a state of steady back-and-forth struggle. At this very moment, the main peak of the Hōnachis mountain range beneath her feet suddenly collapsed. It's as if the apocalypse has arrived prematurely. At the same time, one after another, serpentine black tendrils extend from somewhere in the stellar realm. At the tips of these tendrils are eyes—either open or closed—that, whenever they gaze upon something, instantly turn it into gray-white stone. Objects directly touched by the tendrils twist and stretch, developing limbs and heads, transforming into graceful, beautiful women of varying sizes. As the gray-white spread rapidly, the tendrils surge toward the ancient, crumbling palace, toward the very place where the "Fool"’s singularity is about to be housed. "The Primordial Witch," Chik!
